AACS Goes Virtual

By Dr. J. Kevin Duplechain, AACS President-Elect, 2021 Annual Scientific Meeting Chair

Save the Date for the 2021 Annual Scientific Meeting – Virtual Conference: February 3-28

Though the past few months have been challenging with temporary practice closures and much uncertainty, many of us have also seen increased demand for cosmetic procedures. It’s more important than ever to stay up to date on the latest trends in cosmetic surgery and best business practices. We’ve been working hard to give you the best educational options designed specifically to make the most of the digital world we now live in.

In February 2021, we’ll be holding the first-ever Virtual Conference for AACS, a month-long event designed to educate and connect you with renowned cosmetic specialists from all over the world without having to take a moment away from your practice. The 2021 Planning Committee and I made sure to plan this event from the ground up to bring you first-ever virtual experiences featuring experts from around the world. Plus, you’ll be able to earn more than 30 hours of CME credit without leaving your home or office.

The most exciting part of the Virtual Conference will be the live events! On February 5 and 12, we’ll be live-streaming surgeries and injections, giving you an unprecedented level of access to watch expert techniques up close. You’ll also be able to participate in a live Q&A session with the teams performing the procedures. Some of the procedures we’ll feature live include face lifts, brow lifts, breast augmentations, abdominoplasties, liposuction, mommy makeovers, the Brazilian Butt Lift, and more.

In addition to the live-streamed procedures, we’ll be offering a mix of live and on-demand sessions that will cover both the scientific and practical aspects of cosmetic surgery throughout the month of February. The program includes Master Sessions, in-depth presentations on facial and body cosmetic surgery techniques, poster presentations, 15-minute lightning talks on relevant topics, interactive focused topic sessions in the evening, and presentations on running your cosmetic surgery business.

The virtual format of the meeting means that you’ll be able to design your own schedule and move easily between events. Also, if you miss a live session, all sessions will be available for you to watch on-demand and earn CME credit through February 28. This means you’ll get more education and more interaction than ever before!

Many people look to AACS to bring them a sense of connection. The Virtual Conference will also include innovative sessions that will allow you to interact directly with experts and presenters throughout the month. In addition to live Q&A with presenters, we’ll also have Attendee Connect events where registrants will be able to chat with experts around key topics like popular procedures, social media, and advocating for the cosmetic surgery profession.

You’ll also be able to connect with AACS’s partners at our Virtual Exhibit Hall. Throughout the week, we’ll stream vendor symposia that will feature new products and services for your practice. You can also schedule one-on-one meetings that fit your schedule with representatives from these top companies with no background noise and no distractions.

The meeting will also include special events throughout the month of February, including the dynamic Webster Event to benefit the Cosmetic Surgery Foundation, the Second Annual Women in Cosmetic Surgery Event, and the Business Meeting for updates on all things AACS. Just prior to the meeting, we’ll hold a virtual Resident Forum on January 16, where we’ll teach the next generation about AACS certified Cosmetic Surgery Fellowships and what it’s like to begin a career in cosmetic surgery.

Since there’s no travel required to attend the Virtual Meeting, we expect an even larger, more diverse, and international audience than usual at this year’s meeting, making it even more of a can’t-miss event. There’s no better way to earn cosmetic surgery CME and connect personally with the experts from the comfort of your home or office. For now, save February 3-28 on your calendar and stay tuned for more details and registration information coming soon.
