Events & Education

The Academy’s variety of educational programs for cosmetic surgery professionals are designed to improve skills, advance passions, and provide a forum for the exchange of ideas. 

Each year, the Academy presents in-depth instructional programs that address the current issues, concerns and educational needs of cosmetic surgeons, thereby enabling practitioners to continue providing the highest level of quality medical and dental care. Leading specialists in various fields combine forces with regulatory and legislative bodies to present the most current information on technological and socioeconomic issues. Physicians attending these programs may also earn continuing medical education credits.

Annual Scientific Meeting

Held each winter, the Annual Scientific Meeting focuses on multidisciplinary issues of interest to the membership and field of cosmetic surgery. Featured presentation address what is current and why, as well as controversies and advances in the specialty of cosmetic surgery. Specialists from around the world gather for this highly regarded annual event. It also serves as the Academy’s annual business meeting with the installation of new officers and trustees.

Cosmetic Surgery Annual Review Course

Offered each spring, the 3-day online Cosmetic Surgery Annual Review Course teaches best practices for popular cosmetic surgery procedures and the newest techniques from the experts. This course is for intermediate to advanced cosmetic surgeons looking for a refresher. It is also a preparatory course for those planning to sit for the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery exam or the American Board of Facial Cosmetic Surgery exam.>>

WebClinics & Webinars

Stay up-to-date on the latest practices and procedures in cosmetic surgery through live WebClinics & Webinars. Offered to both members and nonmembers, these learning opportunities are hosted by cosmetic surgery experts and offer valuable in-depth training for time-starved medical professionals. WebClinics are offered for CME Credit, while and Webinars are offered for Contact Hours.

Clinical Fellowship Training Program

The AACS certified fellowship programs are offered to those who have completed a formal residency in General Surgery, Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Maxillofacial Surgery, (MD/DDS), Gynecologic Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, or equivalent ACGME-recognized residency training. Fellowship Core Curriculum Review

Open to all AACS members and past fellows, current fellows and directors participate in a monthly Core Curriculum Review webinar, featuring topics from the newly established Core Curriculum and Reading List. Attendees are free to interact and ask questions during the session.

In-Person Courses & Workshops

Our limited-capacity, in-person courses and training workshops offer cosmetic surgeons a chance to get in-depth instruction on procedures and techniques, often with hands-on training time. They are also a great opportunity to build connections with colleagues.>>

Board Certification

Although AACS does not certify cosmetic surgeons, it encourages all members to become certified by the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery and the American Board of Facial Cosmetic Surgery
