The AACS has partnered with Emilio Justo, M.D., to offer a comprehensive 3-day live training program in upper eyelid blepharoplasty, including the use of the CO₂ laser for physicians who wish to incorporate it into their practice. The course is designed for physicians of all specialties. With over 35 years of experience and more than 30,000 blepharoplasties performed, Dr. Justo covers the full spectrum of blepharoplasty principles, from the initial consultation, medical documentation, preoperative testing and marking, to the procedure itself, the postoperative course, and how to avoid and manage complications.
This small-group training (1 to 4 attendees) includes one day of 25–30 live consultations followed by two days of live surgery observation (16–20 surgeries) at his state-of-the-art facility outside Phoenix, Arizona, along with extensive educational resources, a 175-page syllabus, and ongoing support. The program is ideal for those looking to enhance patient satisfaction, increase revenue, and expand their medical practice. In addition to in-depth blepharoplasty instruction, attendees will also master CO₂ laser techniques and their associated benefits.
General Outline
Day 1
Observe 27 to 30 eyelid surgery consultations. Learn patient evaluation, selection, medical documentation, preoperative planning, and management of common postoperative issues.
Days 2 & 3
Observe approximately 10 surgical cases per day. Learn surgical upper eyelid blepharoplasty with or without the CO₂ laser, plus patient marking, anesthesia approach, postoperative care, and complication avoidance and management.

About the Instructor
Dr. Emilio Justo is a board-certified ophthalmologist with more than 30 years of experience and more than 30,000 upper eyelid blepharoplasty procedures performed. He is known for his clear, practical teaching style and commitment to hands-on education. He is renowned for his expertise in refractive cataract surgery and upper eyelid blepharoplasty.
He is a Fellow of both the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery and the American Academy of Ophthalmology. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Justo serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor at Midwestern University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine and College of Optometry, as well as at the University of Arizona, Phoenix Medical School. He also holds an adjunct position at A.T. Still University School of Osteopathic Medicine in Mesa, Arizona.
He is a two time international TEDx speaker and has written a book titled: The Power of Pause: Mastering Delayed Gratification for Success – A blueprint for Resilience and Enduring Fulfillment.
