CEO’s Message

Victoria Ceh, MPA, CEO/Executive Director, American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery

Victoria Ceh, MPA, CEO/Executive Director, American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery.

Dear AACS Members,

Greetings! Beginning March 2021, I am thrilled to assume the helm of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery and its related foundation, the Cosmetic Surgery Foundation.

My team and I are a part of the association management company TREX-Medical Society Management, Inc. (TREX-MSM), which is a specialized, boutique firm managing non-profit medical associations. Our staff has enormous experience and innovation—experts within their departments. I welcome you to learn more about our team members with whom you’ll get to know and work with in your role(s) as committee volunteer, meeting attendee, leadership, and/or member of the Academy. Please see our bios at the link above.

As your new CEO/Executive Director, here’s a bit about me. I have managed medical societies since the beginning of my professional career 25 years ago, working with international to county-level groups. I have always held this role—the head staff person. My primary focus has been in the dermatology and surgical subspecialties, and the organizations I have managed have always had multi-specialty memberships. I am enthralled by medical science and the history of medicine and healthcare in the U.S., and I am equally fascinated by the changes in the landscape due to the increasing globalization of the medical field.

I have organized large medical world congresses and live surgery workshops in numerous countries, bringing together physicians, scientists, mid-level providers, and industry. I have observed and learned from physicians of different backgrounds along the way. I have attended many AMA House of Delegates meetings and appreciate the structure and purpose. I have a high proficiency in ACCME compliance, and I get excited about adult education theory and innovative ways to educate and train physicians. I am also intrigued by human nature and the desire for social connection and acceptance. All of these components drive me as I do my job, which in part includes building an active, inclusive, strong membership filled with purpose and friendships.

I have come to learn a few key aspects that I believe drive success: clear and honest communication; professionalism and respect, which includes a high level of cultural competence, efficiency, and high-quality output; friendliness and positivity; and an open-mind and an inquisitive nature—constantly learning and improving, adapting, and creating. I will use these aspects to manage the AACS. I look to build consensus. Together, the leadership, the membership, and my team and I will forward the field. At this stage, my team and I are settling in, learning AACS’s background, and restructuring the core infrastructure so we have the pieces in place to flourish in the years ahead.

We hope you feel our energy in your interactions with us. We are here to serve you and make your membership experience with the Academy the most fulfilling it can be. I look forward to getting to know you.
