The Cosmetic Surgery Foundation (CSF) is pleased to announce its Call for Research Grant Applications.
CSF Research Grants are awarded in the amount of $2,000. Grant funds are distributed in two installments, with the initial payment provided upon award and the remaining balance released after receipt and approval of the required mid-term progress report. Grant recipients are expected to complete their research project within 12 months.
Upon completion of the project, recipients are expected to submit an abstract of their study for presentation at an upcoming AACS Annual Scientific Meeting and prepare a manuscript for publication in the American Journal of Cosmetic Surgery.
Research grant applications are reviewed and selected by the CSF Board of Directors. Grant recipients are recognized for their achievements during the AACS Annual Business Meeting held in conjunction with the Annual Scientific Meeting.
Timeline:
- Certificates Presented: January 29, 2027 (in San Antonio, Texas at the Annual Scientific Meeting)
- Mid-Term Reports Due May 3, 2027
- 2nd checks (50% remaining): June 24, 2027
- Abstracts Due: May-June 2027
- Final Reports Due: November 15, 2027
Research Grant Application
Please complete the full application below, including uploading a signed and dated agreement document. Applications without a signed agreement form will not be considered.
A Research Grant Proposal will be uploaded to the application as one pdf. The electronic file should be named as follows: [last name]_[first name]_[year]_CSF_Grant_Application. The document must include:
- Title of Research Project
- Lead Researcher
- Other Research Team Members, if applicable
- Amount Requested
- Project Aims: What do you intend to accomplish? What hypothesis is to be tested?
- Importance: Why is the research important? Evaluate existing knowledge in the field and specifically identify the possible contributions that your investigation may make.
- Preliminary Studies: What has already been done in thisfield?
- Experimental Design: How are you going to accomplish the research? Describe the experimental design, the procedures to be used, and the manner in which the data will be analyzed. Do not include established laboratory procedures.
- Literature Cited
- IRB or Ethics Committee Approval: Indicate if your study has been reviewed and approved by an IRB or Ethics Committee. If so, include approval letter. (See Dr. Jane Petro’s article for more information about IRBs.)
- Background: Please describe the organizational structure in which the research will be carried out and include a supporting letter from the sponsor/preceptor/program director describing the nature of the linkage to a division or department. Include professional background and/or academic affiliation.
- Disclosures: If applicable, include any relevant financial disclosures.
- Budget: Create a line-item budget specific to the amount of funding you are requesting. The CSF does not fund: salaries, travel, lodging, publishing fees, overhead costs, or items such as ipods, laptops, cameras, etc.
