Program Description

The Marvel Cosmetic Surgery Center Fellowship Program, established by Jeffrey B Marvel, MD (Board Certified in Otolaryngology and Cosmetic Surgery) provides its fellows exposure to a high volume of all types of cosmetic breast surgery, major body contouring, liposuction, major facial cosmetic surgery procedures of all types, hair transplantation, injectables, lasers, and other non-invasive cosmetic procedures. The fellowship is primarily based in Nashville, TN, where we operate at an AAAHC-accredited office-based surgery center. We have satellite offices in Spring Hill, TN (20 miles south of Nashville) where we see patients in consultation and follow-up, and where we have three active injectors and aestheticians, Tullahoma, TN (70 miles south of Nashville), where we have a second AAAHC-accredited surgery center and perform cosmetic surgery two days a week.

The fellow is involved in all aspects of a cosmetic surgery practice. Fellows are directly involved in patient care including: consultation, surgery and post-operative follow up. Fellows will be closely involved in the management of our practice including staff training, vendor relationships, and business planning and marketing. We hope to make the fellow’s experience as comprehensive as possible so that a graduating fellow will be ready in all aspects to start an independent practice if that is his or her desired career path.

We accept one fellow per year with a start date of July 1. Stipend and benefits should be discussed with the Program Director. Completion of this AACS accredited fellowship may allow the fellow to be eligible to sit the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery examinations and become ABCS board certified.

The fellow will participate as surgeon, co-surgeon, or first assistant in approximately 1,000 surgical procedures per year. This program accepts Board Certified, Board Eligible General Surgeons, Otolaryngologists, OMFS, OB/GYN, Plastic Surgeons, and Urologists who can obtain an unrestricted medical license in Tennessee.
