Program Description
Southern Surgical Arts’ General Cosmetic Surgery Fellowship Program includes a full faculty, including: Primary Faculty Chad Deal, MD, FAACS (Board Certified General Surgeon and Cosmetic Surgeon); Andrew Ray, DO and supportive faculty Vince Gardner, MD, FAACS (Board Certified Cosmetic and General Surgeon), Jeremiah Mason, MD and Daniel Barker, MD, and Phillip K. Summers, DO.
The program operates out of two offices, both of which are fully accredited AAAHC surgery center, and have established relationships with two hospitals. The fellowship has a very high volume and comprehensive training in all of the branches of Cosmetic Surgery and Medicine. This also includes training in numerous non-invasive aesthetic devices and procedures. Only hair transplantation procedures are not provided on-site but are available from the local additional teaching faculty.
Fellows will be given a 360° learning experience. This includes the initial consultation to hands-on procedural training to the follow-up visits. Our goal is to make the fellow’s year as comprehensive as possible to include all aspects of becoming a successful and safe Cosmetic Surgeon. This includes many non-academic subjects such as photography, staff training, vendor relationships, creating and managing hospital affiliations, as well as strategic business planning and marketing. There are two fellow positions open each year during the regular AACS Fellowship calendar schedule. Stipend and benefits should be discussed with the Program Director. Completion of this AACS accredited fellowship may allow the fellow to be eligible to sit the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery examinations and become ABCS board certified.
