For Education, Research, and Patient Safety<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Cosmetic Surgery Foundation was formed in 2000 as the first and only organization to represent the interests of cosmetic surgery and serves as the research and education arm of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery. It achieves these goals through our funding of research, educational programming, and other training initiatives, to expand our knowledge base and elevate awareness within the cosmetic surgery community and the public at large.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To date, the Foundation has awarded over $1 million in research and educational grants. Perhaps most importantly, the fruits of these labors \u2013 including Dr. Jeffrey Klein’s ground-breaking development of tumescent liposuction \u2013 have made significant impacts to physicians practicing cosmetic surgery and their patients across the globe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a  501(c)3 tax-exempt organization, the Foundation maintains a steadfast commitment to the advancement of the science of cosmetic surgery and the enhancement of patient safety and trust. By supporting the Foundation, you are supporting your Academy!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Cosmetic Surgery Foundation supports and encourages consistent, innovative, and aggressive research in the multidisciplinary specialty of cosmetic surgery. Since 2006, the Foundation has been awarding educational research grants to eligible surgeons that wish to impact science through original research. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Your donation to the Annual Fund is used to fund mission-centric programs related to research grants, scholarships, patient safety, and service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
