The fellowship is designed to educate and train qualified surgeons for safe and successful practice in cosmetic surgery as well as preparing them for the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery certifying exams.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"gb-text-41783d7f\"><span class=\"gb-shape\"><svg xmlns=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/2000\/svg\" viewBox=\"0 0 36.7 3\"><path d=\"M0 0h36.7v3H0z\"><\/path><\/svg><\/span><span class=\"gb-text\">About the Practice<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The primary practice is located in a 7,400 sq ft facility in downtown River North with two state-of-the-art operating rooms. A few blocks away is our second 7,000 sq ft facility with an additional operating room and a 6-room medical spa. The majority of facial and dermatologic &amp; facial procedures will be attended at our 6,500 sq ft practice facility in Glenview IL 30 minutes away. \u00a0Our surgical center and operating rooms are AAAHC-accredited and held to accreditation standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a Training Fellow, you will be exposed to a wide array of cosmetic surgical procedures, including breast augmentation, mastopexies, abdominoplasties, liposuction, fat transfers (BBL), face &amp; neck-lifts, blepharoplasties rhinoplasties, labiaplasties, vaginal tightening procedures, male gynecomastia excisions and mastectomies, and more.\u00a0 All our ORs are equipped with VASER hi-def, Power-Assisted Liposuction, and Renuvion devices. Our Medical Spa &amp; Wellness clinic offers experience in skin care, injectables, laser rejuvenation, hair removal, and tattoo removal.\u00a0 We also offer medical weight loss, hormone replacement, and testosterone replacement therapies, and stem-cell treatments. Plans are also in place to also add hair restoration to our breadth of services.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"gb-text-04c905dd\"><span class=\"gb-shape\"><svg xmlns=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/2000\/svg\" viewBox=\"0 0 36.7 3\"><path d=\"M0 0h36.7v3H0z\"><\/path><\/svg><\/span><span class=\"gb-text\">About the Faculty<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The fellowship director and founder of the group is Dr. Anh-Tuan Truong.\u00a0 Dr. Truong is a triple-board certified cosmetic surgeon and AACS fellowship alum with over 17 years of practice experience. Dr. John Rachel, a board-certified facial plastic &amp; cosmetic surgeon and former ABCS board-member &amp; examiner, will act as assistant fellowship director.\u00a0 The faculty also includes two board-certified plastic surgeons, a board-certified OB-Gyn cosmetic gynecologic surgeon, and a board-certified general surgeon specializing in male body cosmetic surgery. Having six faculty surgeons will allow the Training Fellow to be exposed to a variety of techniques and approaches for each procedure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"gb-text-6424f4c2\"><span class=\"gb-shape\"><svg xmlns=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/2000\/svg\" viewBox=\"0 0 36.7 3\"><path d=\"M0 0h36.7v3H0z\"><\/path><\/svg><\/span><span class=\"gb-text\">Training\u00a0Fellow\u2019s Responsibilities<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Training Fellow will be involved in all aspects of the practice including consultations, pre-operative planning, photography and marking, surgery, post-operative care and follow-up, and management of complications. The Training Fellow will be expected to achieve proficiency quickly to allow them to meaningfully participate in the operating room and gain confidence to perform all cases independently upon graduation. The Training Fellow will be expected to log at minimum 300 cases to meet the fellowship and certifying exam requirement, but our most recent fellow graduated with over 1,300 procedures logged.\u00a0 In preparation for the certification exam, the Training Fellow will be assigned a reading list and regular didactic teaching will be done by faculty. The Training Fellow is also expected to participate in the AACS Annual Scientific Meeting and to submit at least one research article or poster for consideration at the meeting.\u00a0 Finally, the fellow will be well prepared for and highly encouraged to sit for the Cosmetic Surgery Board Certification Exam immediately following completion of their fellowship.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"gb-text-c06cd169\"><span class=\"gb-shape\"><svg xmlns=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/2000\/svg\" viewBox=\"0 0 36.7 3\"><path d=\"M0 0h36.7v3H0z\"><\/path><\/svg><\/span><span class=\"gb-text\">Compensation &amp; Benefits:<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Stipend and benefits should be discussed with the Program Director but will include a living wage stipend, malpractice coverage, educational conference allowance, and company health insurance benefits.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"gb-text-b75dd432\"><span class=\"gb-shape\"><svg xmlns=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/2000\/svg\" viewBox=\"0 0 36.7 3\"><path d=\"M0 0h36.7v3H0z\"><\/path><\/svg><\/span><span class=\"gb-text\">Training Fellow Prerequisites<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Training\u00a0Fellow must qualify per the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/cosmeticsurgery.org\/fellowships\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/AACS_General_Fellowship_Guid.pdf\">AACS fellowship guidelines<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/cdn.ymaws.com\/www.cosmeticsurgery.org\/resource\/resmgr\/fellowship\/July-2020-Gen-Fellowship-Gui.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">.<\/a>\u00a0The applicant must be either MD or DO trained and board-eligible for one of the surgical specialties listed in the AACS guidelines.
