Identify those that align with your career goals and meet any geographical location or personal life restrictions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Be selective. Don&#8217;t pursue any fellowship program that you are not committed to attending.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Update your CV.\u00a0 Make sure you highlight any cosmetic surgery experience you have had.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Request your three letters of recommendation early. Ask those that can attest to your surgical and interpersonal skills.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Prepare for the interview. The interview is an opportunity for the both parties to see if you are a good fit for the practice.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"gb-text-be4a2efa\"><span class=\"gb-shape\"><svg xmlns=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/2000\/svg\" viewBox=\"0 0 36.7 3\"><path d=\"M0 0h36.7v3H0z\"><\/path><\/svg><\/span><span class=\"gb-text\">Match Rules<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>AACS Certified Fellowships use a match process to allow Program Directors and Applicants an opportunity to interview candidates in an orderly manner. The following rules must be followed by both the Applicant and Program Director. &nbsp;Violations may result in loss of opportunity for both applicants and programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>AACS Certified Fellowships match takes place on June 15<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0and is the first application phase for those who want to start their fellowship training the following year. January start date applications are handled on a rolling basis. Applications received after June 1st are sent to open programs only post-match.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fellowship Programs and Applicants agree not to make any appointments prior to the match.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Neither party may ask the other for a commitment either during or after the interview. Statements like &#8220;I will rank you first if you rank me first,&#8221; are against the rules. &#8220;You are one of the best program\/applicants I have interviewed with.&#8221; is fine.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>All rank lists must be submitted by June 1st and are confidential.
